AFI FEST showcases the best films from around the world.

The 2023 edition of the film festival will take place in Hollywood at the TCL Chinese Theatres from October 25-29. AFI FEST features over 140 titles in categories such as Red Carpet Premieres, Special Screenings, Luminaries, Discovery, World Cinema, Documentary, Shorts, and a Showcase of AFI Conservatory films. This year’s Guest Artistic Director is Greta Gerwig. Of the official selections, 44% are directed by women, 37% are directed by BIPOC filmmakers and 18% by LGBTQIA+ filmmakers. This year’s program represents 49 countries and includes 20 Best International Feature Oscar submissions.
